Join the Sharks Family!

Without host families, the Wilmington Sharks could not exist. It is a rewarding experience that will leave you and your family with a lifetime of memories.

By becoming  a host family, you will be playing a very important role in your player's summer experience by providing them with a "home away from home". During your player's time in the Coastal Plain League, they will be immersed in a new environment, away from their family and friends. The Sharks expect families to help their players settle in and become situated with everything that Wilmington has to offer. This is a great opportunity for your family to help the development of these fine young men - as baseball players and as people.

So what's it like? Honestly, you really won't see them much! The Sharks have a hectic schedule - they'll get in late from the games, sleep in and recharge, then leave mid-afternoon to head back to the ballpark to restart the cycle! The Sharks will provide dinner for the players after the game, but the players will need access to your pantry and laundry machines. Players will provide their own transportation.

There is no guarantee that you will get a particular player or particular position or that your player will be here for the whole summer. Placement is assigned based on a variety of factors, and life happens and players leave (injuries, family emergencies, conditional contracts, etc.)

Host families will receive tickets to all Sharks regular season home games for the 2017 season, as well as any home playoff games.
