The Sharks contest with the Peninsula Pilots has been postponed due to rain. Wilmington and Peninsula were set to meet for the first of four contests this season. A makeup date has not been announced yet.

Friday night’s game was scheduled to be the first of a three game road trip from the Sharks.  Wilmington heads to Fayetteville tomorrow afternoon and then returns to Morehead City.

Tomorrow night’s game in Fayetteville has a special start time of 5:05 at J.P. Riddle Stadium. Coverage on the Sharks Radio Network begins at 4:50 with The Sharks Pregame Show.

About The Coastal Plain League

The Coastal Plain League is the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 21st season in 2017, the CPL features 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,100 alumni drafted and 93 alums – including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young award winner Justin Verlander – make their Major League debut thus far.
