The Wilmington Sharks are pleased to announce their second annual "Santa Jaws Sports Gear Drive for a Cause" will be held from 11am - 2pm on Saturday, December 1st, at Play It Again Sports located on South College Road. The Sharks are partnering with Play It Again Sports Wilmington to make it a brighter holiday for kids. Play It Again Sports will match all donations purchased at the store the day of the event, as well as any items donated.
The Sharks will be collecting new and slightly used sports equipment and will work with local non-profit organizations to make sure children in our community benefit from the event. Donations could include baseball gloves, bats, and balls: soccer balls, and shin guards; footballs; youth golf clubs, balls, and tees; tennis rackets and balls; kick-balls; volleyballs; etc.
"The Sharks are committed to the Wilmington community and Santa Jaws gives us a chance to work with local organizations that serve children" says Tom Lamont, Community Relations Director for the Sharks. "We had a great turnout last year and are excited about continuing this event to give back to the community," he adds.
There is no admission charge for the event, but all donations will be used to purchase sports equipment for the children. The Sharks mascot, Sharky, will also be on hand to thank you for your support.
A complete list of non-profits to benefit from Santa Jaws will be listed soon on the Sharks website at www.wilmingtonsharks.com. For more information on Santa Jaws, contact Tom Lamont by phone at (910) 742-1937 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
